The Mountain Lodge Restaurant on Hwy 321 in Gatlinburg has been a local favorite for decades. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look too impressive and the inside is reminiscent of a greasy spoon, but the food more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. Don't let the appearance of the restaurant stop you from trying this delicious country cooking.
Mountain Lodge Restaurant in Gatlinburg is open from 7am to 3 pm daily. If you've never experienced a true Southern breakfast make plans to eat breakfast at the Mountain Lodge. I prefer the biscuits and gravy with sausage, but the restaurant has a reputation for great omelettes as well as pancakes. And of course they also offer country ham, grits, eggs and other typical country breakfast fare. Lunch is just as good as breakfast and also has a country flare. One thing I love about Mountain Lodge is their a la carte pricing for everything except the entrees (which are served with a choice of two vegetables). You can order as much or as little as you want. You can choose from a variety of burgers and deli sandwiches as well as pork chops, catfish, shrimp and chicken. And the best part is that nothing on the menu (including entrees) is over $6.00. Directions to Mountain Lodge: In Gatlinburg turn left at traffic light 3 onto Hwy 321. Mountain Lodge is a few miles out Hwy 321 on the left, just past the post office.
